Peyton Manning Screwed Me: updated NFL Playoff Predictions
UPDATE: 1/17/11: I again went 2-2 this weekend. Changes made below
I originally had Peyton Manning and the Colts meeting Tom Brady and the Patriots in another intense epic battle for the AFC Championship, but unfortunately, Rex Ryan’s Jets came up on top last week, and will be visiting New England this weekend, which brings me to my updated 2011 NFL Playoff prediction.
Saturday Jan. 15 – 4:30ET
BALTIMORE RAVENS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Steelers win 28-17; Steelers won 31-24
A big win last week from the Ravens propels them into a big AFC North rivalry. Ben Roethelisberger is 8-2 in playoff games, and will have home-field advantage. The Steelers are well coached and playoff savvy.
Saturday Jan 15 – 8:00ET
GREEN BAY PACKERS @ ATLANTA FALCONS:
Falcons win 26-23; Packers won 48-21
This is going to be a great game, and the only game I have a little doubt in my pick. Look for an intense battle with two great young quarterbacks. In the end, Atlanta will pull it out with a last second field goal kick in dramatic fashion.
Sunday Jan 16 – 1:00ET
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS @ CHICAGO BEARS: Bears win 24-16; Bears won 35-24
Although Seattle looked impressive in a surprise victory over the Saints last week, the Bears will win this game with their great defensive play. Bottom line, the Seahawks best offensive weapon is Marshawn Lynch, who couldn’t keep a job in Buffalo.
NEW YORK JETS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:
Pats win 35-24; Jets won 28-21
As stated before, and time and time again, no one is going to stop Brady. No one. He’s too good. I respect Darrelle Revis and his shutdown game, but the Pats don’t have a true #1 receiver for him to cover, Brady will throw it out all over the field.
